Radiofrequency, Microwave and Millimetre-Wave Lab

Department of Communications Engineering. University of Málaga

Services Offered

The services offered at the mmiRF Laboratory, based on the infrastructure available at the laboratory, are:

Measurement service in anechoic chamber of the characteristic parameters of RF elements

  • Antenna characterisation: radiation patterns, gain, directivity, SWR, etc. from 12 GHz to 95 GHz.
  • Measurements in anechoic chamber, optical bench or compact range chamber.
  • Measurement of passive and active microwave devices (S parameters) from 1 KHz to 95 GHz.

Characterisation service for the electromagnetic parameters of materials

  • Measurements of the complex characteristics of materials (permeability μ and permittivity ε) up to 95 GHz.

Design and characterisation service for spatiotemporal devices

  • Design, simulation and characterisation of spatiotemporal structures for advanced manipulation of electromagnetic waves.
  • Evaluation of their response in terms of frequency, dispersion and dynamic behaviour.
  • Integration and optimisation of devices for applications in communications and electromagnetic detection.

Design and manufacturing service for antennas, circuits and radio frequency devices

  • Design, simulation and manufacturing of antennas and RF, microwave and millimetre wave devices.
  • Production of prototypes and functional printing with conductive and dielectric inks.
  • Manufacturing using additive manufacturing techniques (3D printing) of mechanical supports and structures with materials such as HIPS adapted to the integration of electromagnetic components.
  • Design and manufacture of high-frequency printed circuit boards (PCBs) for communication, measurement and sensing systems.
